The Winery

PININO is family-owned winery in the picturesque town of Montalcino, in Tuscany, with a long history of winemaking. The original estate was built in Montalcino in 1874 by the notary Tito Costanti. Nearly 100 years later, in 1950, PININO was then inscribed to the Brunello Winemakers Register as one of the first wine estates in Montalcino. In December 2003, the Vineyard was acquired by its current owners, the befriended couples Andrea and Hannes Gamon and Silvia and Max Hernandez who, in a short time, transformed the wine estate into a crown jewel producing first class wines.

PININO is located in the north of Montalcino, embedded like a natural amphitheater into the beautiful and famous hillside of Montosoli. This unique geographical location, which once attracted the wealthy of Montalcino, has become known as one of the best areas of the region for wine production.

PININO produces Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC from Sangiovese grapes sourced exclusively from their vineyards situated in two locations in Montalcino. The cultivation, vinification, and ageing all follow the strict guidelines of the Consorzio del Brunello. Moreover, Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva wines are produced in exceptional vintages.
