Grappa di Barolo 2004

Grignano ‘Pietramaggio’ Rosso is an excellent value ‘Supertuscan‘ blend made with 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvingon and 25% Merlot grapes, sourced from estate-owned, certified organic vineyards, approx. 20 years old vines, at 300 mt a.s.l. Vinification in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, aged for 10 to 12 months in glass-lined cement vats. Stefano Chioccioli is the new winemaker.

A delicious, easy-going wine, loaded with red berry aromas, youthful but nicely integrated. Supple and sweet, with good structure and a fresh acidity that make it the ideal accompaniment to a variety of dishes from traditional Tuscan cuisine, coldcuts and hearty pastas to pizza, grilled meats, BBQ and cheeses. Versatile and delicious! And a great value too!

Starting with the vintage 2016 Pietramaggio is a newly invented wine: not only is the label been updated, but also the blend and winemaking have changed. Make sure to sample a bottle soon!
